Joshua Jacobo is the founder of New Masters Academy, and a professional artist and art educator. In this  class, you will learn the foundations of the Constructive Drawing Approach, a powerful and traditional approach for drawing from imagination or reference.

This class is designed for beginners and for artists who are looking to revitalize their drawing skills. This class will have a special emphasis on describing form, creating an illusion of three-dimensional space, and leading the viewer's eye through the drawing with gesture and rhythm. You will also learn how to handle value grouping, and how to design shape.

Unlike many other drawing classes, you will be working from the Art Mentors plaster cast collection, as well as drawing from organic objects, geometric solids, and drapery. This class will take advantage of both live reference and photographs.

You will be provided with an iPad during class, pre-loaded with beautiful high-resolution DrawThis!™ reference images of plaster casts, drawing forms, and more to work from each week. These images will also be shared with you every week so you may practice at home.
