Long Pose Figure Painting Online Class with Joseph Todorovitch Full Access

This is an online class. You will have access to the video recordings and reference photos, but you cannot submit your work for critique from the instructor. 

Joseph Todorovitch is a professional figurative and portrait painter. In this comprehensive 10-week class, you will be completing two long-pose figure paintings, each pose lasting 5 weeks. This gives plenty of time to create a thought-out and finished work of art.

Throughout the class, you will focus on establishing pose and narrative. You will learn lighting scenarios and value pattern motifs, along with color keys and other compositional ideas for making a complete painting. Joseph will also discuss color mixing, establishing an accurate drawing, massing values, choosing areas of emphasis, and paint application. You will be able to resolve a larger scale painting with a model, discuss finishing touches, and ways to “strike a balance” to create a sense of resolve in your works.

You will benefit from Joseph’s generous teaching style as he provides informative lectures and well thought out demonstrations. Full Access participants can upload photos of their weekly work into the class chatroom before Tuesday 5:00pm PST and get a full critique from Joseph, where he will provide feedback and trace over your paintings. You can watch the recordings on your own time, and you do not have to participate in the critiques if you don’t want to.

The class recording will be available for your viewing every Wednesday at 7:00pm PST. You will receive online access to the recording of the lecture portion for one year or six months depending on your purchase plan. This is helpful to reinforce the principles of each week, and to catch any concepts you may have missed the first time around.
