I was wondering if there is anyone who has taken multiple classes from Joseph who could rank them in order of quality and maybe provide a brief description of why. If you have only taken one, I would still be interested in your input.
I have taken Painting the Head in Oils and I loved it.
In my opinion the most important part of a painting is how it begins, and each week Joseph takes you through a process of beginning a painting that is easy to digest and apply to your own work. He provides the information necessary to take a painting to any level of completion you wish. I found his words and philosophies to be as beneficial as observing him paint.
In this course there are great images to use as references so you can continue painting with his process, and the models he used for long after you’ve watched the videos. I would recommend this course to anyone who is struggling with simplifying value structures, determining colour, drawing or edges as he provides valuable information on how to address these fundamental ideas in a simple, easy to understand way.
