Advanced Figure Drawing with Glenn Vilppu Online Standard Access Winter 2018

Glenn Vilppu is an internationally renowned draftsman, painter, and instructor. In this class, students will learn Glenn’s world-famous approach to drawing the figure. He will teach a perspective that emphasizes gesture and focuses on the expressive quality of your drawings. You will dive into human anatomy and learn how to compose all anatomical elements together to create a more realistic and thought-out drawing. You will learn to analyze movement and form, not just copy it, which allows you to work better from imagination.

You will be working with a variety of different materials, including pastels, pencils, vine charcoal, pen, wash, and water soluble pencils. This variety will force you out of your comfort zone and into greatness. The uniqueness of each medium will be covered, including the proper skill set and techniques needed to master every one, as well as their advantages and disadvantages.

You will benefit from Glenn's generous teaching style as he provides informative lectures and beautiful demonstrations. You can watch the recordings on your own time. This is helpful to reinforce the principles of each week, and to catch any concepts you may have missed the first time around.

NOTE: Students will have access to all the class recordings for 12 months and may download all reference images to keep. But since this class is recorded, students will not be able to submit work for critique from the instructor.
