Charles Hu is a figure painter and notable art instructor. In this class, you will be focusing on the elements of quick sketch: gesture, rhythm, line of action, volume, stretch and pinch. Charles will show you how to handle drapery and different fabrics, and you will learn how to use the folds the benefit the gesture of the pose. You will also learn to unify the action of the pose by creating shapes that give a dynamic read.
You will be experimenting with different mediums like pastel charcoal, fountain pen, marker, ball point pen. The uniqueness of each medium will be covered, including the proper skill set and techniques needed to master every one, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. The goal is to take what you learn from this class and be able to sketch at you favorite locations in your sketchbook.
